Take a look at these two articles from two different newspapers dealing with the announcement of Bevill State Community College president Harold Wade retiring. First the article from the Daily Mountain Eagle:

Bevill State Community College President Harold Wade, who oversaw mergers to create a landmark regional community college, announced Thursday he is retiring Aug. 31. The announcement by the Oakman resident took many people by surprise. Wade, 67, released a four-sentence statement that was mostly biographical. Postsecondary Chancellor Bradley Byrne said he found out Thursday in a phone call that morning from Wade.

Now here is the other article from The Birmingham News:

Harold Wade, the Bevill State Community College president whose school has been implicated in an ongoing federal investigation, told state officials Thursday he plans to retire at the end of the month.

Wade, 67, notified system officials of his plans to retire after working 34 years in the system, said Chancellor Bradley Byrne. Byrne said he had not discussed the issue with Wade before learning of his planned retirement.

Efforts to reach Wade for comment Thursday failed.

Notice the different tone conveyed by the articles.
