Well, ain’t this a pretty picture? A Louisiana congressman under investigation for bribery was caught on tape accepting a $100,000 bribe from an FBI informant. The cash was stashed inside Represenative William Jefferson’s freezer.

This is a picture of what is wrong with our goverment. Corruption transcends through jurisdictions and party lines. It does not matter if voters elect to sweep out everyone out of their positions; their replacements will simply commit the same crimes, continuing the tradition of corruption and fraud in the modern U.S. government. These days, being a politician means one had to be underhanded and corrupt in order to succeed in that profession.
