The devices will be installed along an eight-mile stretch of Arizona State Highway 101 which creates a freeway loop around Phoenix, AZ.
The camera will capture the license plate number and send a citation to drivers going more than 10 mph over the 65 mph speed limit.
They’ve been installed over here for quite some time, and to be honest they are a real pain in the ass - they renamed them last year to : Safety Cameras. Which is just another way to get money out of people.
They also installed a radar detection system on a road here at the end of last year, its a bad road mostly used by tourists heading for the highlands but they’ve raked in £100,000’s in fines. And they aren’t investing it anywhere that we’ve seen.
People are going to speed until they see the cameras, then people will suddenly slow down. An accident waiting to happen, not to mention the money that the poilce will extort out of good drivers.
